Encinitas Looks to Regulate Surf Camps

Encinitas City Council is looking to regulate surf camps currently operating on its beaches, of which there are 14. This decision could lead to the withdraw of some camps that found the city's laid back policies on business welcoming.

"Tomorrow night, the City Council will discuss whether that laid-back attitude should end and regulation of camps begin. This possibility has owners worried about being shut down after years at the beach; others say they would welcome regulation requiring everyone to play by the same rules." -Union Tribune
